Klarna in Store

Hi does anyone know how to use klarna in store (e.g smyths superstore). I've recently been accepted for a physical klarna card that I've received in the post and wanted to get some bits off it for christmas (no judging please I can very much afford to and know what I'm getting myself into). I just don't understand how it works I've searched everywhere and there's nothing that says black and white what you need to do when in store I don't want to get to the checkout and look like a numpty. Do I need to do something on the app first? Do I need to add money into my account (I want to do a pay instalments)? Help please thank you!!

Is it the debit or credit card that you have?

I have a Klarna card, you can use it as you would any other card, although I can only use contactless when using my phone (which i don't, so I have to enter the PIN every time)

I am not judging you, but I just wanted to say that it's the worst financial decision I have made in a long time.

It's like a repeat of the 'payday loan' era I went through in early adulthood. If you can pay it off each month and still have enough funds to get you through the following month, go for it. I can't, and am now panicking about how I'll get through each month after paying it off.

Yes, you can pay in installments, but there is a charge. There is also a charge to carry an item over to the next month. I'd recommend anybody not to use it.

Again, no judgement here I just wanted to share my experience.

So do you make a payment in store and then plan your installments later on the app? And thank you I know it can lead people into sticky situations I've been in the same situation before when I at a hard time but I'm in a much better financial situation and headspace now and vow to never spend beyond what I know I can't pay back but yes it is worth spreading awareness for people to take things like this very seriously and it's not free money! You would use it as any other card i store. You can add funds to your Klarna account and then it is paid immediately just like any debit card.
If you dont have funds in the account then you will be charged interest on the balance. The interest rate is pretty high at 27.9%.
It is basically a way of reeling you in and keeping you in debt to them. I wouldn't touch anything klarna with a bargepole.

Ahh see I didn't know there was interest on the debit cards I always knew there was one on the credit cards. I always use it online and never had any problems paying it back but I appreciate that it's not for everyone! X

If you go to the klarna site all the information is on there. You should have had terms and conditions either by email or post or when you went through the sign up process. They do different payment options but all of them are designed to keep you paying them. If its a debit card you need why not just use a bank account
