Insurance claim - am I too late?

Hello,

we took out insurance from 'Mover Protection' owned by Lifetime Legal. We were told that we would hear by yesterday so I went to find their email with the dates on so I could double check. In my junk I found an email from them from 3 weeks ago saying they have awarded us the money and we need to call and give our bank details - If I call Monday, will they still let me claim it? My emails are stupid, I am switching to a gmail account but I hadn't done it when I put in the claim. It's a significant amount of money. I cannot see anywhere that you have to call them and give your bank details within a certain amount of time but I am worried that as I have repsonded in 3 weeks I may be too late.

Thanks

Strange that they don't have your bank information given that you must pay them for cover each month. Unless they have got some weird 'time out' policy I would have thought that they would honour the payment - it's not that long a period of time and nothing has happened in the interim time to undo the reason for the payment I assume. Plus even if you had seen the email at the time, there are lots of reasons why people might not be able to respond within three weeks - holidays, family situations, etc.

Yes that is a good point. Maybe it is because people have different accounts for different things? Not sure.

I worry a lot about t's & c's for this sort of thing because they're often quite tight! I just saw it then and panicked that it might be 14 days or something, but I can't see anything that says that at all, but that doesn't mean I am looking in teh right place!

Hopefully it will be all good as we really need it after losing so much through the collapsed purchase

Oh that sounds a nightmare, you poor thing. I am sure it will be fine. Just give them a ring on Monday and provide the bank details - I am sure they will not be phased by three weeks and, if they are, you can explain about the email situation. It won't be the first time that this has happened to them. Hoping that once you get your payment, things will be on an upwards trajectory for you.
