Stolen credit card, what to do?

Hello, my DH's credit card has been stolen, it was a new card issued by the bank because the old one was expiring, so it was stolen before it got delivered. DH had a phone call from someone pretending to be from the bank, and in knowledge of the full credit card details and address. He reported to the bank and card was frozen. No financial transaction seems to have been made. A few days later, Experian is now flagging two soft searches on the day of the scam call. DH has reported to Action Fraud, but not sure what else can be done? Also, how does one know if the personal details are used for any loans or financing or anything? Thank you for any help, we are very anxious about it all.

I’d check out the CIFAS identity protection service. There’s a small fee (£30 maybe) but it alerts organisations to the fact that you/your DH has. Web a victim of fraud and therefore they should pay extra attention to any attempts to open an account in his name.

Thank you so much, I have just looked up CIFAS and this will be very beneficial. Our mortgage renewal is coming up though, do you know if it will affect that?
