If you had £1000, where/what would you invest it it. Money I've been given from a late grandparent. I know it's not a huge amount but I feel sentimental about it and would like to invest it somewhere to hopefully grow rather than spend it.

I recently opened a stocks and shares ISA with trading 212 and put £1000 into Vanguard S&P 500. My return so far is 4.1%. Very new to investing.

you might prefer a savings account so the money is safe. Money saving expert will tell you the highest interest accounts. https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/savings-accounts-best-interest/

I would second T212 for an investment of £1000. They are cheap and the app is quite intuitive. However I would just add that only do this if you don't intend to use the money for at least 5 years.
I also wouldn't put it all into the S&P 500 at the moment. I would look for something a bit more diversified like a Global fund which is not too heavily US focused.

This might be a good one to try iShares MSCI ACWI UCITS ETF but please do your own research to make sure this fits your needs.

Definitely trading212, completelyfree to use. Look at iShares physical gold. I've made 18% over last 3 months.

I second (third??) Trading 212.

Or if you prefer the certainly of savings I’d go for the one of the accounts on Money Saving Expert ….but also look at the deals your own bank might have for existing current acc customers.
