Would love to move so we can have a cheaper mortgage.

We live in south east and a mid terrace 3 bed, 1 bath is roughly £190,000.

Is that expensive or cheap comapred to where you live?

Where I live that would cost you at least £230,000 (for a do-er upper or somewhere with a problem like no parking), up to £315,000 in the posher parts of town. We're also in the SE.

mumblechum · 02/06/2008 13:39

According to UpMyStreet.com, avge in our village is £687,230.

thelittlestbadger · 02/06/2008 13:47

Round me, about £600-800k. I don't live in a house!

nickytwotimes · 02/06/2008 13:49

3 bed semi here - about £150 - £180
Rural Ayrshire.

OracleInaCoracle · 02/06/2008 13:49

here, shropshire, av is about £135,000 for a 3 bed 1 bath semi

funnypeculiar · 02/06/2008 13:56

Our 3 bed 1 bath was recently valued at 370-380 (about 15 mins from Kingston)
It is Victorian, so you could get cheaper... but not £190

Depends whereabouts in the city you live here. Big difference between different areas. On my estate average is somewhat skewed upwards, so you'd struggle to get something much below £280k and most of the houses around £400k+ even in this market.

However go a few miles away and the price may drop quite a lot.

OrmIrian · 02/06/2008 14:25

Bit less here.

between £525k and £2.25 million!

Hulababy · 02/06/2008 14:30

Just used Upmystreet. The postal area (S10) average house price is about £230k. For my area within that postcode is about £325k - that covers properties from the small 1-2 bed old people's flats to the large 5-6 beds on our estate.

awayfromhome · 02/06/2008 14:32

terrace 3 bed, 1 bath around here is about £700,000 to £800,000

I used to live in S10 Hula

A cheap, small one on a scruffy street round here would cost around 100K, a nice one anything up to £140. South Lincs

bogie · 02/06/2008 14:51

a mid terrace on our street would cost about 80,000-90,000 our house is valued at around 125,000 its 3 bed 1 bath but twice the size of the mid terrace ones on our road

UnquietDad · 02/06/2008 14:54

Huge variation: you could pick a 3-bed terrace up for £70k here, but probably not in an area you'd want to live in. Over £200k for a "nice" area.

Hulababy · 02/06/2008 17:55

TigerFeet - I love S10 area

awayfromhome · 03/06/2008 13:46

riven - SW15, if it was me you were asking

moneybagsuk · 09/09/2008 21:17

In my area, way expensive - about 450k, but definitely falling.

Best place to look this type of property info up is this free house prices site Zoopla, try entering your post area (eg NW8) into the search box, then click on see property market overview.
