Will this affect house buying process before completing?

I have been worried sick over this and don’t know if I am being unreasonable..

currently coming towards the end of house purchase, mortgage deed has been signed after receiving offer last month, contracts signed and enquiries finished we are just waiting to exchange and get a moving date. We have bought a new tv for the new home and did not realise not to open new credit before completion, so this was not done deliberately. Anyway, we looked for the best deal and Very had an extra discount code to be used against the sales. We purchased the tv through very pay which I have never used before, it was a buy now pay later which gave the option of spreading cost over 12 months. However, we didn’t intend on taking finance out for this we just ordered through them to make use of further discount. In total it has been around £600 but we paid the full amount of the purchase as well as delivery costs immediately in full. I’m concerned this will affect my credit and flag up before we exchange. I’m so worried even though we have paid the purchase in full!
any advice would be appreciate as I am honestly stressing hard throughout this process

A few suggestions. £600 as a percentage of the mortgage must be tiny, and not at a level to have an impact on your ability to pay the mortgage. Sign up for a free credit check service to see if your credit application has registered. Give your mortgage lender or broker a call and let them know what's happened, asking if this low level of credit will have an impact. Then, if there's an issue, let your solicitor know what has happened. If there is an issue at all, it's going go be small.

On the affordability calculators we used beforehand we are looking at the top end of around £330k and we took the mortgage out for £171k. Thank you for your advice.

The fact that you haven't borrowed the maximum is good news too. The clause in the mortgage about credit is to protect the lender in the event that you borrow say £80,000 to buy a Range Rover and that puts at risk your ability to repay the loan. Remember the mortgage lender wants you to go ahead with the mortgage so they are looking for reasons for you to complete your purchase, not for reasons to withdraw the loan.
