was wondering if anyone could help please. have a 6 week old baby and was wondering if there was anything we can claim. i am self employed and am getting smp, dp works full time. we own our own home and live in ni so not sure if this makes a difference. if so who should claim me or dp? and where do we call or go to get the forms? have never claimed anything before so not sure where to start!

You really need to contact the Tax Credits Office for some more information.

As riven points out, WTC is a means-tested benefit. It generally tops out at around £14,500 joint gross income, but can be more if one or the only working person is disabled and/or you have a disabled child.

It is a joint application for both WTC/CTC for any couple living in a domestic relationship, so you must give information for both of you and the award is made to both of you.

Yes, it is the same in NI because NI is part of the UK.
