Advice on life as have no one really to talk to

I’m currently in a job I have been in for 10 years plus I’m at a nursery I enjoy my job. I’m on minimum wage but the hours have been great I have 2 teenage children so don’t need the hours for them but I now have a 18 month old ….
basically I am single now so it’s just my income - I don’t have that outlook now that together we could create a future with both our incomes it’s just me … so I’m now wondering and weighing up my options as to what I do … obviously the hours would be amazing for my youngest growing up because like my other two I’ve had all the summer with them the evenings etc … but I’ve done that on basic pay not being able to treat them unless I scrape back etc … I have no savings etc … have universal credit as a bump up … I’m trying to work out if it’s selfish of me to get a job that earns more money or if it’s the best thing to do … I’ve debated being a child minder I don’t have the biggest house but I reckon it could work … I’d be earning more money .. I could do term time potentially and if not my youngest would be in my ratio .. my older two don’t mind me doing that … I just feel like if I don’t change my job now I’m never going to and I will be in the same position I’m in now in 10 years time …. Someone please help me rationalise … or give me some advice. I want the best life for me and my girls …

I don't have any advice really as there are probably pros and cons to either staying in the job you're very comfortable in, with great hours, or trying to find something with better pay (childminding or something else?). I'd make a list and decide which seems like the better option. More money is always welcome, but a trade off may be less time with your youngest.

Could you get a promotion in your nursery for better pay?
Would you be self employed as a childminder? Will you be comfortable dealing with self employment paperwork?

Good luck, whatever you decide

The job market is not great for job seekers at the minute. Childcare is expensive personally if your job fits in with your child I wouldn’t be changing.
