declaring potential health problem to car/travel insurers

I am getting minor neurological symptoms which - as yet - do not impair my functioning in any way and are not causing me any pain. My GP says wait and see for a few months which, medically speaking, I am happy to do. However, in the meantime I have to renew both my car and my annual travel insurance. I will not try to deceive the insurance companies, but how can I put it so that they understand there is no reason to penalize me at present? I will go back to the GP on this one as well, but I would welcome any of your experiences - thanks.

You do need to declare the symptoms, especially to your travel insurer. No point in telling them anything but the absolute and clear truth, as anything but that could mean that they would refuse to pay anything in the event of a claim (even unrelated).

In this sort of case, its often worth going to a broker (the sort in an office, not an internet site) and getting them to arrange your insurance, as they will be liable if an insurer thinks that a full disclosure hasn't been made, and they can shop around for you.
