How to survive going solo

We’ve been married for 6 years and have 3 DC.
I love being a mum, but I can no longer stand my husband. Hes lazy and selfish, takes no interest in me or the DC, unless he gets something from it too.
Ive made up my mind to end it, but I can’t decide on the timing. My main reason to hang on is financial. I only work part time, 16 hours a week, so absolutely couldn’t survive on that. We currently get UC, but as a joint application, and I’ve no way of figuring out how much I’d get as a single parent, to know if it’d be enough.
can anyone that’s been in this situation help out with rough monthly UC payments? I get around £700 PM wages

How old are your children OP? If they are under 3 year old then you can look on entitled to as above.

If they are 3+ though you will need to increase your hours/pay to meet the AET for UC which is 30 hours per week or £952

Youngest will be 3 in January.
I can’t increase my hours unfortunately as I’d have to work around school hours. This isn’t main sticking point 😢

Unfortunately OP you will have to if you want to claim UC once your youngest is 3. You need to either work 30 hours per week or earn £952 per month, it’s a non negotiable.

Lots of schools do breakfast & after school clubs or local childminders and UC can also pay towards this so it is possible.

Try citizens advice. I'm a single parent too. With work at a local school 25t hours per week, and UC we are fine. You can force him to pay maintenance
Your local citizens advice can give you 30mins free legal advice with a solicitor ' - I found this invaluable.

Incorrect.

The figure you quoted is the administrative earnings threshold. If your earnings are less you will be expected to look for more or better paid work but there may be flexibility if you have young children.

I don't know where thirty hours comes from . Pretty much everything in UC is based on earnings.
