Yes me and my partner were.

You firstly need cancel your TalkTalk service, you generally need to provide a 30-day notice if you are not switching to another provider or you’re switching to a non-openreach network.

If you are switching to another provider on the Openreach network, you don’t need to do anything bar get your new deal and have the guy come out to set it up. TalkTalk will handle the switchover to your other network. The switchover usually completes within 14 days (those 14 days you can still use your old talktalk network), and no separate notice to TalkTalk is required. If you ring talktalk, they will explain this in a better way!

I would warn you that once you get a new router/network installed, it takes a few for it to come up to the correct speed and work decently/stabilise. This is the case with any new wifi network. We got the guy to move us from talktalk to EE pretty seamlessly, but it did take around 72 hours for the EE network to start working decently. Our talktalk network immediately stopped working as soon as EE started working.

I would recommend using the 3G on your phone while your new network stabilises.

Don't cancel anything. Find new provider and ask them to do the One Touch Switch. This ensures a seamless transfer. Doing this automatically puts your broadband into cancellation with existing provider. It works even going from a open reach line to a cable line like virgin. Ofcom recommend this way.

Don't cancel - just contact the new provider and they will arrange a seamless transfer. Even if the new installation gets delayed you still won't be without internet.
