Son moving back in worried

Hi am new just quick question. I am currently really unwell heart problems I am receiving benefit from pip and universal credits my husband is my full time carer .my 18 nearly 19 old son has been in accident has to move back home he is receiving universal credit himself . Will this effect my benefits. I am currently paying bedroom tax on his room as wasn't living here . Any help appreciated thank you

The way he might affect benefits is that adult non dependents can generate a deduction from housing costs. However given your son's age that would not happen and anyway your being on PIP would also bar one being taken.

So no other than an additional occupant leaving no/fewer spare rooms for bedroom tax purposes, which is a financial gain, you'll not be affected.

NB the only thing is if he affects Council Tax discount. Hopefully not for same reasons as above but there's so much local variation in CTR schemes that I'm not certain.

My dd claimes UC and it has no effect on our claim.
Lives at home at 18...
