What do you think DD needs?

PLenty of ordinary credit/debit cards are fee free for foreign use. I have a Santander Zero card which is as is the Barclaycard used as a backup.

There are also pre-paid cards which have less scope for fraud but need to be topped up. We had them 10+ years ago and they were not universally accepted. French motorway tolls and some filling stations were amongst problem areas.

wize card. She can transfer money onto it as she needs it to local currency and it’s cheap as chips. Used all round SE Asia

Yes, my DC got one for this reason and it's worked well. Nationwide account and debit card, that is.

I have a NatWest World CC, fee free. I issued my teens with an additional card on my account post sixth form and we sort out their spending when they get home.
