Is hiring a financial/wealth advisor worth it?

So I’m a British citizen as are my children and my ex. I don’t live in the Uk but I have a house there and one in my home country. I’m a single mum of 2 and most of my money is split between England and my home country. In equity if I sold tomorrow I’d have about £550,000. I’ve got a tiny bit in stocks, shares and bitcoin. Quite a bit in pension and have paid Uk and home country ones over and above including back paying my state one in England. I want to retire in 11 years but am not sure whether I’ll do that in my home country or England, I’m going back over to England for a while and living in my property there with my children for a year. However, I can free up money easily and now people are talking about a recession I’m looking at buying up shares. I’ve spoken to a number of financial advisers who have quoted me about £2k but if I’m going over to England and not sure if I’ll be back is it worth it?

It may be better to start just with a pure tax advice, ideally from one adviser who knows both countries tax positions. Then you will have more information on your options and can find a financial advisor to suit x

In my experience they are just salesmen trying to push their products and earn commission. I found better advice on online websites and forums.
