My dh is about to lose his job.

Has anyone any idea about what benefits we can claim and how much they will be for.

I dont work as we have a 2.8yr and a 8 week old baby

You will still get the child tax credit but the working tax element will be stopped as soon as you inform them.

You will probbaly be able to claim JSA but it depends if the JC say it was your dh fault they will contact his work and ask them.

If they find it's his fault they wont just stop the money you will get hardship benefit,{it is the same amount as JSA} for a length of time until they decide to allow you JSA and you will have to then pay back the Jc (for the hardship benefit). a small amonunt each week out of your jsa

Try and claim Housing and CTax benefit get receipts for everything and try and get the JC to fast track everything.

Of course you will also get child benefit if you get it monthly now and find you are struggling ring them and ask for it to be paid weekly.

Also a good idea would be to go to CAB as they will help you out no end .

Hope it all goes ok

You will get Child tax credit
Probably Housing benefit and council tax benefit.
JSA either income based or contributions both are the same amount of approx £92 it has gone up a few pence recently.

They can investigate why he was sacked and may decide he isn't entitled to JSA for X amount of weeks but they do pay you until they make a decision and you don't have to pay back what you've already been paid.

Council and housing benefit can take a few weeks to sort out.
