Child Maintenance - Additional income variation

Has anyone had any luck providing evidence of additional income to CMS? My case has been rejected after a long wait, due to lack of evidence from me, I thought that they were supposed to investigate this themselves after being provided all relevant information?
My child’s other parent has no contact due to abuse, and I’ve just been told that I need to make contact with him and his employer to prove to CMS that he gets what I have reported to them, he is on a pretty low yearly income on p60 but his employer also provides accommodation (2bed house, 2 gardens, private driveway, off the road, good location etc) instead of an extra £12,000-£15,000 a year, he also has not had his own vehicle for years as he has use of company vehicle and fuel, all paid for by his employer, and he also takes an extra £5000-£10,000 a year over winter for a ‘side hustle’ but this is cash so I’ve written this off completely
CMS say they have all these investigative powers but when it’s as simple as phoning his employer (who would be straight up honest) they have somehow failed. Is this right? I’ve now got no more than 32 days to somehow provide evidence of all of this otherwise it will be rejected again, any ideas welcome 🙏

I found it shite. All they did in my case was call ex-husband, who denied any extra, and then rejected my claim.
The documents I had wouldn't even upload to them due to their stupid virus checker (they're government documents)

It’s absolutely floored me that they can’t just phone his employer and ask the question outright!
I had trouble uploading documents too but got there in the end, it’s taken them over a month past their expected time just to tell me no and they’re completely ignorant of the fact that there was 3 months between application and his first payment date - which has put me in mega debt that they just say ‘well we hadn’t got to it yet’

If what you have written here, is the basis of your application its a lack of evidence in general. CMS can not investigate/call his employer. They use what's been provided to HMRC. Once you have had your Mandatory reconsideration you ask them to refer it to the financial investigations unit for them to investigate it. However if you decide to appeal via HMCTS, they won't investigate as you can't have to investigations at the same time. You'll need to decide which route to take.

Thank you, didn’t know they refer it, I’m hoping to get a signed letter from his employer, but not sure if reconsideration end date or letter will come first!
