SkyQ

We’ve just switched over to SkyQ and were told that the boxes are only on loan/we don’t own them.

What happens if we have a problem with the box or it stops working? Do we have to pay for an engineer to come out and fix it or is this free because we don’t own the box?

With our old Sky box we had to pay each time the engineer came out, so had an insurance policy to cover that cost. It seems like we can cancel that policy now though.

We have had Sky Q since it was released and don’t own them, we have a main box and 3 Minis. We r have had a few replacements and engineer visits over the years and we have never had to pay a penny for repairs, replacements or engineer visits

Thank you - that’s super helpful.

So you were paying for Sky AND then having to take an insurance policy as the need for repair what so frequent?

Unless you have Sky for sport I don't understand why anyone would have it in 2025.

I have had a Sky box for years never had insurance. When they stopped working I just used to go on Ebay and got a another one for £10. Never bothered to get sky engineer in.
