Getting Mixed Feedback on Pocket Money - So How Do We reward Children

Am I missing a trick here? Is there something equivalent to a sticker chart that I can use on my older kids? Especially when I'm asking them to do things that they don't do currently?? I naturally can get a bit of pushback - especially from my eldest (13)!

We have rooster, I assign chores or whatever on there, like £1 for putting laundry away for example (my kids are younger than yours) and it goes to them on their app as a task to do, once done they tick it’s done and I approve it.

I believe that pocket money should not be related to tasks. The money is for the children to have some funds that they can use as they wish, or if they are older then may be for transport etc.

jobs around the house are part of being a member of the family.

If they are paid for doing work at home, then they would be entitled to say no if they don’t want to.

Well. I wanted to broaden the question out so it wasn’t just about money. Thanks

Nice one. Is Rooster easy to use. I find it pretty hard to be honest!

but what if they’re consistently doing well and staying on top of things. Do they get anything apart from money (like a gift or something) I suppose just natural encouragement/ having a happy home goes a long way to be fair.
