I’ve been trying to arrange this cover through my financial advisor however some of the questions are very hard to answer !
eg there one re attempting suicide or self harm. My initial answer was no. However about 20 years ago, when a bit drunk and in an emotional state I took a few ( as in 3 or 4) extra antihistamines. Went to a& r, ran tests and all was fine. I may be overthinking this but does this count as self harm?!

It depends what your medical record says. Did you tell them you were drunk & took too many by accident? Or did you say you wanted to harm yourself? Did you have a psychological assessment at A&E?

@SnugNightsss i remember saying id had a lot of wine and then asking a few questions. They did a test then I went home. It was such a long time ago and I hadn’t even thought about it for ages !

Can you check what your GP medical record says?
They would have had a letter from A&E.
There should be a front page summary of all diagnoses and medical events so you could see what that says

Confusedcom99 · 28/03/2025 07:28

@Maviaz thanjs im guessing it will willl say i took a few too many pills and was sent home after tests! But I could try asking..

It may say accidental overdose which would let you off the hook then

SnugNightsss · 28/03/2025 07:36

I suspect it will just say accidental then, but to put your mind at rest I would contact your GP practice and tell them you’d like a copy of the letter that A&E sent to your GP.
