Reselling - can I make a living?

Is this a reasonable dream? It’s looking likely that I’ll have to quit my day job because of ill health. Some days I feel ok some days I can’t get out of bed. A regular job is just not possible at the moment.
I fancy having a go at reselling - has anyone done it/doing it and made a decent amount of money? I had stints of selling on vinted etc and made some good money. But curious as to whether this is a sustainable way to make cash?

No one can say without an idea of what you’re selling and your personal expertise. Yes , if you have a niche interest for which there’s a good market. Fashion, it’s tricky. The marketplace has completely changed now as people sell their own valuable clothes on vinted rather than donate to charity. Charities often have experts to value label goods , or have their own eBay accounts to resell designer items. Ten years ago I could easily find cashmere, designer items for reasonable prices. Now it’s virtually impossible .
There will always be certain things though which collectors will pay for , whether it’s rare 80s toys/ certain books/ magazines.. if you know your stuff there is still money to be made.

I do reselling on the side. I sell second hand mens clothes and it os not as easy as you think. It is very up and down.

I mainly soyrce frim charity shops and resell on vinted and ebay.

It can be a slog sometumes and sometimes I don't find anything.

For some tips follow rummagearound , chaddypete, retroreselling all on Youtube.

What items do you want to resell? Where will you get them from? What platforms will you use to sell on? Will you sell used or new items?

All things to consider.

My DS does this as a side hustle (not clothes), he makes around £500 per month. He says it’s his way of relaxing, he has lots of spreadsheets of who’s paid what etc. He often posts his items in his lunch hour on WFH days or Saturday mornings. Storage space is something worth considering.
