Hi got my award and got standard rate for mobility but nothing for daily living , I'm happy I got something don't get me wrong but I have agoraphobia and anxiety disorder so rarely leave the house. I've rang and asked for a copy of my assessment report and I'm considering asking for them to look again.. what does anyone think? Any advice would be great thanks

the mobility award is because your conditions affect your ability to leave the house.

the daily living component is about your ability to get dressed, make a simple meal, use the toilet. Do your conditions affect your ability to do those things?

What parts of the daily living criteria do you think you meet?
Until you know how many points/which points have been counted for daily living it's hard to say. They may have given you points but not enough for an award. They may not have given you any points.
Go through the criteria and ask yourself what you can't (consistently) do in each section and how many points that would be. Then add it up do you get enough to meet the standard rate? Then when you get the report have a look at the disparities between what you got and what you think you should have got. Then you can decide if it's worth mandatory reconsideration.
I was on higher rate mobility and lower rate care. Which I thought/feel is right. Last renewal it was reduced to lower care and lower mobility. I don't agree, if anything I'm worse but I don't have the energy to appeal. It's so disheartening to think they feel I'm lying/my health has suddenly got better when it had actually deteriorated. So I understand it hard when you feel it's not what you should have been awarded.

PIP points scoring system will help you decide if a reconsideration has a chance of succeeding..

It is how your conditions affect your day, to day living that they take notice of. You have to get that across to them, with evidence to support what you wrote on the form.

When you have read a copy of the assessment report, then you will have more of an idea if it is worth challenging the award.

OK thanks for getting back to me .. I struggle with getting out of the bath and walking particularly on stairs, I have osteoarthritis, back problems, balance issues, trouble sleeping. I have an appointment with the haematology department via phone and getting a visit from the community mental health team. Anyway I've asked for a copy of my report and still waiting on reward letter will see what happens there.
Thanks for the reply .

If you have an alternative mode of washing like shower or aids to help you with bath and stairs you may not get awarded sufficient points for daily care.

Are there any other tasks in the daily living section that you struggle with? If you need to use a bath board to transfer into the bath because of your arthritis that would be up to 2 points but not enough for a daily living award by itself

if you do the questionnaire here which points do you think you should be getting for daily living?
