How to deal with credit card issue?

I’m somehow firmly locked out of MSE, so posting here in the meantime, until I can work out how to get back in.

I have a credit card balance I’m paying off gradually each month. It’s been on a 0% deal for 18 months. The bank have informed me that my deal is coming to an end next month, and I can’t transfer to a new 0% card with them. I also can’t currently apply for a new card with another lender because I’m moving house in a month, and applying for credit now will jeopardise my new mortgage deal. The current card will default to 24.9% interest.

Obviously I don’t want to stay with that card long term, but unsure what kind of options will be available to me post new mortgage. How long would be sensible to wait before applying for a balance transfer for a 0% deal?

Who is your mortgage with? Will it stay with the same bank when it transfers?

For future reference it is always good to keep a few credit cards open with different banks as they often offer 0% deals to current customers.

Thank you - it’s with NatWest, we’re porting our current deal (as it’s good!) with a small additional borrow. The credit card is also with them.
