AVC contributions not reported - UC

My workplace has recently changed to a new payroll company. Previously my pension contributions including AVC were reported fine and my UC was based on my net pay less all of my pension contributions.

However, I've just checked my UC statement and HMRC portal and my AVC hasn't been reported which means UC think that my net pay is higher than it is and have reduced my UC award.

My knowledge of how employers report to HMRC is limited - are they required to report my AVC? If not, I assume I'll need to send my payslip to UC and ask for a mandatory reconsideration but I'm keen to avoid this due to the time it takes and my payment is due on Monday. Therefore if they are meant to have reported my AVC I will ask them to amend their report to HMRC.

Thanks for replying. It's on my payslip so I'm confident it's been taken. But it hasn't been reported to HMRC.

To confirm my pay is all correct. My payslip and pension contributions are all correct.

The problem is the AVC hasn't been reported to HMRC so my net earnings have been over reported. This means my UC award is less than it should be because they think my net payer is higher than it was.

It's the first month my employer has used a new payroll company.

I have paid the right amount of tax because it's relief at source so the tax I paid on the AVC gets added to my pension.

@Fishfried yes that's exactly the problem Grin my query was more about whether it could be resolved without having to send docs to UC as they take an age.

I'm going to ask if an amended rti report can be submitted instead as I think that would be preferable.

Am I reading this right? You are saving money every month and the taxpayer is supplementing your wages with universal credit payments to enable you to afford to pay monthly into AVC’s 🤨
