Will universal credit stop my payments

Will it be suspicious if I start withdrawing my money and will they stop my money to investigate. I can’t manage it if it’s not in cash.

It's fine to withdraw money. I do loads in cash (petrol, food, basic clothes) as it's easier to budget.

Why would it be suspicious? It's your money to spend as needed, either withdrawing it to pay with cash or just use card/transfers.

Many people take it all out as soon as paid because many find cash easier to budget with

Well I remember there being new regulations to universal credit that detect unusual activity on bank accounts

Withdrawing your own cash weekly or monthly isn't suspicious.

Suspicious means money coming in from elsewhere with no accountability or payment of UC coming in but it's never touched so what are you living off.

if someone looked at your account, would they see all the normal transactions, such as rent, council tax, utilities, phone bills etc. I presume you will not be paying those in cash.

Yes I’m paying those online

Are you close to the savings limits? That's the only thing I can think off that would be a bit odd. If you go from saving a bit each month but start taking out cash just as you get to the limit. Would wonder about you hiding savings in cash. But I don't think they look too closely at things like that.

I prefer cash too. If it is not in my purse, it is as good as not being there at all. Helps me budget too.

I know from your other thread that you are going through a review. Just tell them what you said here... that cash helps you budget.

To be fair, I know people on UC who live with family and have no rent costs, and are not paying bills. They draw out money and give them to family to cover their share, but there would be nothing from utilities etc in their bank statements
I am in a similar situation in that I live in a friend's house and send him money for bills.
