I have been out off work for a few years looking after children and sick husband. I am looking at going back to work as my husband can't as of just yet so I would be main earner. Was Wondering would he still get all his benefits due to his disability or would that all stop. we had never claimed before his illness so this is all new.

It depends what benefits he gets.

Best bet would be to put all your details in a benefit calculator and check what impact you earning would have on what benefits you're entitled to

As a rule of thumb, pip isn't affected by partners earnings, but universal credit, housing benefit and council tax support are.

As above PIP is non means tested as is new style ESA if he claims that.
Anything means tested such as Universal credit will be affected by your earnings but as you have kids then you would get what is called a work allowance on UC meaning that a proportion of your earnings is completely disregarded before your earnings reduce your UC, and even then it only reduces on a taper.

ok thank you this is all new to us as my husband has only been out of work a year but I'm needing to try and get back to bring in money as he can't just yet but is hoping to soon. we are in Scotland so I know some benefits are different.
