Never had a cleaner before.

They are doing 3 hours in a 4 bedroom house.

£18.20 per hour so roughly £54 for the session.

Is this normal?

Mine was £16/hr but I’ve stopped her since the school fees vet came in

FosteringNewbie · 27/01/2025 14:04

It depends on where.

Here is £18-22 an hour (I pay 22 because the cleaner does a few non-cleaning tasks too!) ~ but I'm in the Home Counties and from previous threads like this, I think this is the most expensive part of the country bar some of London 😂🫠

£15/ hour and she brings her own stuff. She's an independent not a company and if anything goes wrong it's on my insurance 😟. I might have been naive when she started, but now she's been with us years, she's not prefect, but is trustworthy.

tellmesomethingtrue · 27/01/2025 14:13

Thank you.
Mine is £14.50 an hour plus the quarterly agency fee that is £135, which works out to the equivalent of me paying £18.20 an hour.

I charge £15 p/h minimum two hours, using clients's cleaning products/vac etc, fully insured.

I know it's underpriced but there is a lot of competition here especially out of season when the holiday let cleaners are out of work for a few months (Cornwall).

mintgreensoftlilac · 27/01/2025 16:18

£17 per person per hour. She used to come and do two hours by herself but she has now taken on an employee so they both do it in an hour which suits me better as I'm often at home with the baby when they come so it's less of a disturbance. She charges an extra £5 to change the bed sheets if we request it. She uses all her own products and equipment.

Boomer55 · 27/01/2025 17:18

Approx £25 per hour here.

Citygirlrurallife · 27/01/2025 17:22

NE Hampshire current cleaner uses my products is £18/hr and she’s amazing. Have used a few cleaning companies who have been minimum £22/hr and nowhere near as good

Heelworkhero · 27/01/2025 17:26

£45 for 2 people cleaning for 1.5 hours.
They do a good job, generally……. 3 bed house. No kids and we are very lax on standards in between…..

I need a cleaner but I’m worried about potentially having things stolen. I’m not well off currently I’m on benefits but came from a comfortable family so had bits I afforded whilst living at home. Expensive individual items and I have a few hundred cash put away for emergencies too. just can’t risk it

bugalugs45 · 27/01/2025 18:34

£15 an hour , she's not the greatest and most weeks leaves at least 10 minutes early ( ring doorbell ) but she's reliable and has been with me for several years .
She brings a couple of her own products but does use my floor, bathroom & toilet cleaner.
If I ask her to do something specific she will .
SE , outside of London

PlayTheWillyBanjo · 31/01/2025 21:59

Between around £18-£25 per hour round here, (North West)

ZiggyZowie · 31/01/2025 21:59
