It is possible to invest offline, but it's likely to be considerably more costly in fees for buying, selling and managing the investments.

There are several options:
-Book a telephone appointment with an investment planner with one of the high street banks such as Barclays Investments.

-Set up an account by phone with an investment platform such as Hargreaves Lansdown, Fidelity or Charles Stanley, then pay into it by bank transfer, debit card or direct debit. Once the account is set up you can speak to a broker by phone and buy shares and funds, or send your instructions by post.

-You can hire a local independent financial adviser to set up and manage an investment portfolio for you. It usually involves a face to face appointment to assess your financial goals and attitude to risk. They will charge an initial fee plus an ongoing percentage fee of the portfolio.

If it's just one £20k ISA, I wouldn't have thought you'd get value for money from an IFA. I'd have thought you'd want something like a global index tracker with low fees, don't try dabbling in individual shares or anything complicated.

I would agree with this - but investing offline as the OP prefers is more tricky and costly.

My Brother doesn’t do online banking, he gets an appointment at his bank and they sort out his ISA’s for him.

I used to have an online Nutmeg S&S ISA. It did quite well but slumped during Covid and never recovered its original value. I decided that, unless I was prepared to tick the high-risk box, it was not for me - as soon as a mini-profit appeared, it disappeared in costs! Cashed it in and gave to both children for whom it made a big difference. Only my personal experience.
