ISA advice

Hello

I'm looking to invest £20k in an ISA. Due to my financial ineptitude it needs to be something straightforward and easy and not something that I need to actually know anything about markets in order to do! Does anyone have any suggestions for a novice?

TIA.

A global index tracker like vanguard FTSE global all cap would be a good place to start - open an account on any platform, could be vanguard for example, and look for a fund like this. Fees should be 0.25% max for the fund.

A super simple but more expensive platform is nutmeg. You just tell them your risk level and they do everything.

Thank you, that's helpful.

Any other suggestions gratefully received!

Cash ISA would be the most straightforward. Moneybox currently has the highest interest rate at 5%. All app based and very straightforward. Covered by the FSCS guarantee.

You're right, I'd assumed you'd meant a S&S ISA but a cash ISA is the simplest.

You'd want to be investing for a min of 5-10 years to go with S&S as there will be ups and downs. Also if it needs to be easy access it may not be right for you.

Thank you both. I can do long term as well, so perhaps £10k into each kind of ISA this and next tax year.
