Savings app

Hi everyone
i am trying to save some money this year and really like the money box ideas which have specific amounts on them to guide you to save a target (£10,000) however im not comfortable with putting money in a physical box and wondered if anyone knows of an app which is similar which would tell you to save c amount per day to get to that target. Random numbers eg 5 pounds one day £100 another etc.
an example of a box is this https://amzn.eu/d/gsWisl3

I can just buy the box and use the numbers on it to guide me and not put money in but thought an app might be better for me.

i would like something which reminds you daily and isn’t a fixed amount per day I like the variety and find that more realistic.

appreciate any help anyone can give

I don't see the point of gimmicks like this. What if you can't afford to save the amounts it suggests? Or you can but it suggests £5 and you blow the rest because its a £5 savings day.

£10k could be an ambitious target depending on your income and outgoings so you'd far more likely achieve it by reviewing your budget and including a regular monthly amount to save as part of this. If it looks like you'll never get there you'll need to work out how to increase your income or cut back elsewhere so you do.

Then you just set up a standing order to move the money when you get paid.

Plus as most people will take years to save that amount you might be able to add extra bits of money as you go along eg if you sell something or get a bonus or pay rise.

Plus you might need to dip into it for annual or irregular essential costs depending on whether you have other savings put aside for these things.

I think you'd be better making and sticking to a budget- and giving every pound a job...look at Lemonfool Statement of Affairs, or YNAB, have a listen to Dave Ramsey on you tube or the fee app about budgeting.
Basically, know your numbers--what comes in, what goes out, what you have left to save :)

It's not an app not I was reading about a savings method (not sure that's the right word!) where basically you save £1 on Day 1, £2 on Day 2...... and so on, adding another £1 each day for 100 days & by the end you will have saved £5,050. Could you do this twice to reach your £10k target in 200 days? I think it sounds so simple, but it's very bottom-end heavy & wouldn't work for me.

Another thing I read was this savings challenge on Ask Paul.... www.askpaul.ie/blog/starting-your-year-right-askpaul-52-week-savings-challenge/ ... where the amounts are more random, but only adds up to 5k - I guess you could double it.

Thank you all for these replies! Really appreciate it, I’ll have a look at this ask Paul as that would probably suit me!

Well you can save £10.99 straight away by not buying this unnecessary box. Then you can save another £10.99 tomorrow by still not buying the box!

Bleak House economics aside, where is this money coming from? It's sitting in your current account? A combination of an instant access savings account and a regular saver would be a sensible option.
