Mortgage- underwriting: retention payment

Hi all,
I am currently on maternity leave and in panic mode.
I should have received a retention payment monthly whilst I was working prior to maternity leave however, this was not paid. Work has now made a manual backdated payment and will be providing me with the arrears payslip this month. Nationwide usually want to see the payment on 3 payslips but due to it not being paid because of a system error I am unable to evidence this through payslips. I am waiting for the underwriters decision. Is there a way around this? Has anybody had a similar experience?

TIA 😊

Can you get work to put it in writing that it was an error on their behalf, the amounts that you were due and the dates?

I can try, but they are being funny about it. They have stated they don’t do such letters. I do have a letter stating that I am eligible to the pay

They don’t do these letters? That’s got to be complete nonsense. And wholly unreasonable.

If you have a contractual right to the monthly retention payment and they have not paid .. surely they are in breach of contract?

Be careful here also, quite aside from mortgage eligibility criteria, anything that looks like a bonus or lump sum payment is often not pensionable from the employer side. Lots of employers like to give you lump sum payments for this very reason. It saves them money but you lose out big style. I’d be really cross with my employer if I was you. Don’t just take that lying down 😡

Another one saying speak to your employer- its their error they should be bending over backwards to make sure this doesn't inconvenience you especially while on maternity leave and dealing with a large financial matter!

They have provided me with a return to work letter. Do you think this would help?
