PIP review - no assessment?

Hi

I am due my review next year - I receive enhanced daily rate and standard mobility. I work full time.

I saw a new report yesterday where the benefits minister said that 'most people won't have an assessment for a review' - is this correct? I always assumed that a PIP review would need an assessment, even if it's just a phone one? Has this changed?

has anyone else had a successful PIP review with no assessment? My last award was for 3 years.

I've just received my new PIP award. It's standard daily and enhanced mobility and haven't needed an assessment. It did take almost a year though from sending off the renewal paperwork.

Was this on the news? Surely there are factors which will depend on whether they need an assessment on review, or not.

Did you provide much new medical evidence? I am worried as my condition isn't going to get better ( injuries from car crash) but my hospital visits are now few and far between - I just live with it and get on with the best I can!

Yes my last review was not accompanied with an assessment. They just said it will stay the same for a few more years.

Oh and my injuries are also from car crash - I included prescriptions etc but I think that was all.

On my and my sons last review, I just wrote 'no change' on the relevant questions. My sons came through without an assessment but it took well over a year. Mine was fairly recent so I will have to wait. Neither of our conditions will get any better.

I’ve been told my award letter is on the way but I don’t know the outcome….
i sent off my review in April and only now getting an answer. I didn’t have an assessment - for either my first award or this one. I was on DLA before and have a life long disability that will never get better so maybe that’s the reason why?

No new medical evidence as my condition is constant. I have a spinal injury and I'm not going to improve.

Renewals involve an assessment even if it is a paper based assessment based solely on the form and any evidence sent.

Webbb · 20/11/2024 16:35

I have recently had a renewal and no assessment. Just sent off the form and updated medical evidence.

I'm rare though as I have never had any kind of assessment. When I was originally awarded, I sent in form and evidence and was awarded shortly after. Not even a telephone call.

I get mine for mental health, same rates as you.

I work in welfare rights. Ime, the majority of reviews aren't assessed in the sense that you actually have to attend an assessment or have one over the phone and most of mine remain unchanged.

BrightYellowTrain · 20/11/2024 18:28

A paper based assessment is still an assessment.

Pinkypup · 21/11/2024 21:38

I got my letter through today, awarded until 2034, no in person assessment.

Yes just got five years awarded. Basically I filled my review in in January as it was due to be then and I’ve just waited until the other week to find out that without another actual phone call or face-to-face or anything like that just done on what I sent in and paperwork, they have reviewed it our last three years now they have given me five years without actually seeing anybody so yes it is positive for me and they kept me on enhanced on both
