Do you have an injunction? Am guessing if you do that, no he can't track you down but I hope someone more knowledgeable come along.

TotalChaos · 27/04/2008 20:14

No solicitors do not have any magic ways to track people down.

meep · 27/04/2008 20:17

they can use tracing agents to find debtors - but I am sure a reputable solicitor would not just try to "find" someone unless there was a good reason to. I think they do it by checking electoral registers etc.

So he could find us then? How long do things like that take?
I think he may just be trying to scare us, as hes been saying this for a while to the mother of his other son, but Id like to know if he can do that via a solicitor.

flubdub, I am not sure if you have cross-posted but meeps and Mrs Pickles have already responded about the methods used by solicitors to track people down and for what purpose.

Out of curiousity, why are you and the mother of his other son hiding from him?

flubdub · 05/05/2008 11:57

Oh yep, sorry. X post.

Solicitors can apply for court orders to get DWP to reveal if they know where someone is.

I think you need to seek legal advice yourself.
