Advice please
how are people managing with the high cost of food etc
I am struggling so much lately just don’t have any money spare I often go without food or have minimum to make items last longer . I’m on that awkward line where I don’t quite qualify for a food voucher so cannot use food banks. I lay awake at night worrying and thinking how is this life in 2024
I feel like I’m not living just existing.

It is so hard for lots of people, you are not alone. Hopefully things will improve for you. There have been lots of threads where posters advise on ways to stretch what money they have. You could advance search some, for some really good tips.

Are you collecting supermarket points and batch cooking, bulking out with kidney beans and lentils?

I just apply to join a local food pantry scheme. You can shop for a set number of items for a nominal fee each week. Ours charges £5 for a weekly shop.

Is there a similar scheme where you live?

You can also get a voucher for a local food bank from your local Citizen Advice Bureau usually and other places.

For anyone to really help you need to provide more information. What is your weekly budget for food? What sort of diet do you have, do you eat meat? are you veggie etc. Is it just you that you are feeding?
The olio app maybe worth downloading to see if there are any people doing it in your area, even if its just bread its free and its something to eat.
If you are on facebook there are multiple groups dedicated to low income eating 'feed yourself for £1 a day' i believe there is also a sister group to that one for 50p.
