How to Cancel Pension Credit

I am selling a non-revenue-generating property in an EU country which I inherited decades ago.

I live in the UK and receive pension credit, and the sale proceeds will take me over the £10,000 threshold to receive pension credit, so I need to cancel it.

Can anyone advise how I should do this please? What do I say? What details do I need to give? And should I cancel it once I have the money or before? Grateful for any advice. Thanks.

Thanks, but I have already seen this and it doesn’t answer my questions.

I know I need to call them to report the change to my circumstances but what information do I need to provide?

In terms of timing, do I need to contact them before the money is deposited into my bank account or after?

Contact them the day you receive the money in your bank account and tell them that you've just received the proceeds of an inheritance amounting to £££.

Sounds like you shouldn't have been getting PC in the first place if I'm reading that right? The value of the property should have initially been included as part of your capital... assuming it wasn't your main residence.

It doesn't make any difference if it generated money or not... it was still a capital asset. You'll end up with an overpayment of PC.
