Hello!
Just looking for advice or others in similar situations please.
checked my bank today and had a massive payment from child tax credit on Wednesday along with todays usual payment that was a lot higher than normal ( nearly double the usual weekly amount) my child was awarded DLA in august (high rate care and low rate mobility) which was backdated from march time.
We renewed our tax credits in july so I am wondering if this is an adjustment since we started claiming DLA? Would they know this?! On my gov.uk account it says ‘This is because of a recent change and is to help you get the right amount of tax credits’ next to the massive one off payment ( wed 9th oct ) and also next to todays usual payment which has nearly doubled. The next few weekly payments are also at the increased amount.
We hadn’t informed tax credits of our childs DLA award either and had been planning to do the mandatory switch to universal credit in the coming days.
I apologise if I haven’t been clear enough! It seems like a large increase and until I can contact them on Monday I can’t work it out! Any help would be excellent thank you 😊
will post amounts if needed 😃
