Found debt letters hidden from DH - help

I’ve found letters from 2 loans taken out by DH they’ve been passed on / sold to a company. Is there anyway I can find out more? Or if they are the only debt? Any help greatly appreciated.

Speak to him? If they've been sold on, there's probably a CCJ to go with it. You need to ask him for his credit agency records, that will give you a good picture of what's going on.

You have to speak to him, it’s the only way. No company will tell you anything due to data protection laws.

May not be a CCJ yet - usually the debt companies that apply for the CCJ.

Can you check his credit score? Experian or Clear Score perhaps.
It will show the debts listed in his name. Loans, credit cards, phones, overdrafts, utilities and so on.
Check your own in case there is debt linked with your name.
Do whatever you need to do to find out the whole and real financial state.
Deep breath @Farmwifefarmlife debts can be repaid.
The more important thing is, will he ever earn your trust back, you need to be very clear to him, if you give him another chance, on what you expect.
I hope this works out for you.

I’ve tried a credit check but as he’s previously used them it’s coming up to verify his email address unfortunately.

I’d like to ask him but feel he will just lie! And not be honest so I’d like to figure what is going on before I approach him. I think this is the Final nail tbh things have been rocky for a while. He’s previously been bankrupt and I don’t understand how he’s got into more debt to be honest.

I’ve managed to view a credit score checker it’s a fairly basic one as I didn’t know a lot of the answers to the questions on a decent website! I’ve found some previous debt from 2020 its previous to him being bankrupt (2021) and it matches the amount owed on the letters have only just come and are dated September 2024. Does this mean it’s wiped out? The Letters indicate they will be in touch regarding a repayment plan.

A lot of the dodgier agencies like Lowell will try their luck in getting paid out even when debt is unenforable. I dont know the ins & outs of bankruptcy though so won't comment on that.

Thank you I am wondering this as on the credit score it says the debt is default from bankruptcy date xxx. the debt was sold beinging of 2024.

I probably won't explain this right but I think bankruptcy inhibits recovery of the debts, but most are not wholly formally "discharged" until the 6/7 years is up? So if in that time the creditors you have (or had) debt with change hands / merge with another company / sell on their debt to another creditor or collection agency then they're obliged to notify you just in case your bankruptcy is rescinded etc and it's "game on" again for them?
