With a free initial consult? I'm in Cornwall if that matters. TIA!

If you are looking at retirement planning, then https://jacksons.life are a Cornwall based financial planning firm where one of the directors provides lots of information for free via Meaningful Money podcast & YouTube.

Most people do not need a financial advisor until they get near retirement.

When I spoke to Pensionwise, they recommended the 'Unbiased' website for IFAs.

Vouchedfor is also a good site to use. It has filters so you can find an adviser who is independent, who does financial planning, or mortgages, long term care, equity release, whatever it is you are specifically looking for.

View finding an adviser like dating... see many, have an initial chat, see who you get along with. Don't feel 'sold to'. An adviser is there to work for you, to stop you doing something silly - such as talk you out of the decision to sell investments in a down market, or to stop you taking 25% tax free cash from a pension at age 55 without thinking through what that means for your future.

MWA financial are very easy to deal with and were highly recommended to me.
