Debts/0% card

Hi. With COL I’ve been using cc more and more. I’ve worked out where my money is going and where I can save more. I pay a bit more than minimum so it’s obviously not going down and is slowly increasing.
I have small amount of inheritance (less than £5k) which I’m loath to use on this, I see it as emergency fund. I’ve looked at my existing loan and the rates if I consolidate all of it. I then thought about a 0% card transfer with the aim of not accruing interest and clearing what I can in the 18 months. I could always use some of the savings to boost the clearing in the 18 months.
Has anyone done a 0% balance and found it worked? My Experian rating is excellent.
Please no judgement. I got badly in debt 25-30 years ago and worked hard to pay it off.I work v hard and can’t get a second job. We do not have holidays but a reasonably big mortgage as I lost my job once we moved in.

we see doing this at the minute. We used Martin Lewis MSE site to check eligibility and best deal before applying.

if you can’t transfer the full balance, you should pay the minimum off the 0% card and aim the pay off the higher interest debt first.

Thanks. I did the same, got a card via there and hot one for full balance. I will close the card and then pay it off as much as possible in the 18 months I got 0%. I do have the savings I could potentially use to pay what isn’t cleared. Wish I’d done it sooner!
