Hi I'm starting a job on the 9th of September and the pay day falls on the 28th of every month. I'm new to UC also, and my assessment period is 18th to the 17th. Will I fall into the trap of getting paid twice. I'm not sure when the cut-off date is for my job. I'm assuming it's a week before pay date.
Thanks

AFAIK the getting paid twice thing is only a problem if you get paid 4 weekly.

AFAIK the getting paid twice thing is only a problem if you get paid 4 weekly.

If your pay is weekly based, whether you're paid every 7, 14 or 28, days you the amount in each AP will vary. As above, if it's 4 weekly there's certain to be one where there are two lots of pay.

@Mummyof2sons I think you'll be fine. The risk for monthly paid people is where the pay day falls very close to start/end of the AP. If the pay day shifts due to weekends and bank holidays etc and you're paid early then two salaries fall in the same AP.

There is now a workaround for it but it's a manual process and best avoided if possible.

You should be OK, it's only really a problem if your pay day is very close to the start/end of your assessment period, so sometimes falls into the next one if it's delayed or brought forward by weekends or bank holidays. As you have 10 days between, it's not going to move that far.
