Is my council tax liability correct?

My maths says it's not:
March in a Band A property which was £1467.58 before any discounts. I've stupidly shredded my letter but was paying around £22 a month. (as I'm single and only pay 20℅ due to my income)

July - moved into another band a property within Plymouth. Their calculations are:
total from 18.06.24 £1161.03 (18.06 was when new tenancy started but couldn't move until July)
25℅ council tax discount -£269.02
council tax support -£645.65
total due £246.36

I'm now bring asked for £35 a month? The only thing that's changed is my address. Shouldn't they take into account what I've already paid? It means I'm paying more now despite being in the same band.

From April to June I paid £70.82

Is it because you're paying over a smaller number of months than usual because it starts from June rather than April?

Which is what I thought. But I've already paid 3 months worth which they haven't taken into account.

What you've already paid doesn't matter, it's the number of months of the year you'll be in the property. In my council area the default is set to pay over ten months so you get two "free" months in Feb and March. If this is the case for you, you could be paying 9.5 months over 7 months, which would come out to approximately a monthly payment of £35. (246.36/7 = 35.19). Could it be that?

You paid 3 months on a different property though. You get a new bill on your new property which is lower due to you taking the tenancy in June and then pay it off over fewer months

l would guess that the increase is due to the overlap in leases. And where that overlap occurs, you may not be able to claim the single person discount or support discount on your new property. So you’ll be paying full price from 18th June to July.

Note that the values quoted for each discount now does not equal 25% and 20%.

I think you may be due a small refund on the prior lease.(£15 est).

Probably easier to call or email them to explain the figures.
