High Income Child Benefit Tax charge

Hi mumsnetters,

DH has last year earned over the child benefit threshold - about £55k gross. He put about £3.5k into his pension so we're expecting to pay the income charge on £1.5k

Working through the tax return today we can't see a place for him to put his pension figures in and so the calculation is saying he owes £700+ which is more than we were expecting. Does anyone know where we fill the pension figures figures in?

It would have been much easier if he hadn't got this new job until this year and would have been under the new threshold! 🙃

Thanks!

You just put in his pay figure after the pension contributions (so enter £51.5k as his pay figure).
