If you get paid milegae by your empoyer, do you pay tax on it?

We get 33p per mile for a 1.4 litre car or smaller, and 37 p for bigger cars

this should explain it all Just make sure they are insured for Business use and get a copy of it so you are covered for employers liability.

Also you can pay less than the max rate allowed, they can then claim the difference back from HMRC themselves.

You don't pay tax on business expenses that are reimbursed.

I get 40p per mile and as far as I'm aware that's the maximum you're allowed to get (although it can be less depending on your employer). Over 10,000 miles pa I think the max is reduced.

Business mileage isn't taxable - only private mileage.
