Why is my credit score dropping so quickly all I've done is move address

I've always had a great credit score, I've moved address and boom,

It's really upsetting me and getting me down, I've moved into my in-laws house to save up for a house deposit after renting for the last 12 years, as soon as I've moved addresses over all it's done is drop over the last month,

I've got no missed payments on time with everything,

My score was 803 on clear score and dropped down to 640,

It's breaking my heart and really getting me down specially as all I've done is change address

Anyone please help me

How long have you been there and have you registered on the electoral roll at the new address?

When I moved mine dropped for about 3 months, then it came back up.

Ive only been there just short of 2 months its took a while to get things moved over, and obviously had to wait while electrol role has updated which I think is only just appearing on report, I have read a few forums saying it drops and then creeps back up but it's so horrible sometimes 😭

We moved a couple of months ago. We've worked hard the last year or so to get our credit score well into excellent and then once we moved, it plummeted. I attributed it to a couple of things:

  1. Not being on the electoral register. We had to update our address so it took a while for us to show on the register again.
  1. We significantly increased our mortgage to buy this house so now have a lot more debt and higher repayments.

It's slowly coming back up but was a shock for sure seeing the massive drop!

Credit checks undertaken when applying for mortgages and also setting up utilities at the new home can also affect the credit score

You do know it's a totally meaningless number made up to trick you into paying for a subscription to monitor how it changes month to month?

As long as you're on the electoral roll and keep up with any credit payments that's what matters when you apply for a mortgage along with your deposit and affordability checks.

100% this!!

Your credit 'score', ie the number is meaningless and I really wouldn't worry about it.
