Credit card

Evening all, I was wondering if anyone knows anything about positive balances on credit cards please? Basically I paid off my credit card last week with savings (few thousand pounds) and I was due my regular minimum payment (approx £200) on the 25th, so the bank (RBS) have taken that amount then have deducted interest charges so the upshot is I have over £100 in positive credit on my card. I’ve tried to go through the online chat but not getting anywhere with it, and have no local branch, I’m wondering if anyone has experienced this before and if they automatically refund or if I’d be better to just use the credit to order stuff online and let the balance clear next month with changing my direct debit to pay full balance? I’ve never been in this situation before, any advice appreciated, thanks

You will have to ring them and then they will refund it to you, or use it to pay for essentials like fuel or groceries.

Just fill up your car and do a bit of a food shop…it will be gone

i'm in credit by 6 pence and it gives me the option to withdraw it.

Credit card companies don’t like positive balances as they can be used for money laundering purposes, so they will usually refund very quickly.

If you can't get in touch with them it might be better to use it for your usual shopping for a one off.
