I have a three points on my license and now got another letter of speeding, and what will be the consequences C5 a speedy 27 miles instead of 20?

Can I write a letter of appeal?

What would your appeal be based upon? Was there wrong signage?

BulldogMumma · 13/06/2024 16:34

You won't be able to appeal if the signage was correct, not sure if there's no signs though.
Are the points you already have for speeding?

BIWI · 13/06/2024 16:35

I think you need to consider your driving, more than whether or not you can appeal!

PotteringAlonggotkickedoutandhadtoreregister · 13/06/2024 16:36

Why are you appealing? Were you not speeding? Were you driving an ambulance at the time?

Sorenips11 · 13/06/2024 16:38

Have you done a speeding course? You might get offered that if you haven't done one in the last 2(?) years. If that's not an option then it's more points and a fine.

Overthebow · 13/06/2024 16:38

What would you be appealing against? If you were doing 27 then you were doing 27. You will likely get another 3 points and a fine.

BuggeryBumFlaps · 13/06/2024 16:40

Appeal what? If you were speeding you can't simply appeal because you have 3 points already.

You'll get another fine and more points. You can have up to 12 before you lose your licence. 27 in a 20 is likely to result in either 3 or 6 points which will take you up to 6 or 9. You'll just need to be very careful in the future not to speed again.

WallaceinAnderland · 13/06/2024 17:02

Presumably there is nothing to appeal though OP?

PickledPurplePickle · 13/06/2024 17:12

27 in a 20 is way too fast - why do you think you have ground for appeal?

Munchyseeds2 · 13/06/2024 20:37

Pay the money, take the points and don't speed!

EmbracingTheGrey · 13/06/2024 20:48

Despite already having points for speeding, I was offered a speed awareness course. You have to have not attended one in the last three years, and the speed you were going was not excessively over the limit. Mine was 24 in a 20 zone. I don't know the details of the criteria applied. No point appealing if you were actually speeding.

WeeOrcadian · 13/06/2024 20:59

What would the appeal be based on?
