Do you have to inform child benefit/uc if your dc is staying in full time education when they turn 17/end of year 12?

I know when dc finish gcse we have to let them know if they are staying in full time education to carry on receiving child benefit. Do you have to contact child benefit again when they are 17 years old and finishing year 12 to let them know they will still be in full time education the following year? I’m really confused as some places say you only have to do this when they finish their GCSEs but other places say you have to let them know when they turn 17 as well? Do you also have to inform UC?

I had letters from child benefit just before the end of the school year at GCSE stage that I had to fill in and return. Then every year until it got to a point where I knew they were leaving full time education. I then informed them they were done and the benefit stopped right after the term ended.

I don't think we do. I'm sure that when I completed the form last summer I had to state when DS was due to finish college (summer 2025). So I assume that's when it will stop.
