Carers allowance, DLA and tax credits

ive just started claiming DLA for my daughter and have claimed child tax credits(not moved to UC yet) for years. My husband claims working tax credits and we get some housing and council tax benefit. I have been told about carers allowence but I don’t know anything about this.
if I was to claim it would it effect my other benefits? Would they go up ,down or stay the same? I don’t cope well with change so it’s stressing me out.
thanks

You can claim carers for a disabled person you carer for , for more than 35hours a week.

You can't earn more than £150 per week. Your dp earnings are not included.

It's around £85 per week.

I don't get uc but I believe it does affect it as it's classed as earnings.

You could check a benefits calculator

It is a taxable income. It also pays your NI stamps if child benefit has stopped. They do take it £4£ on UC but add a caring element to your claim, when you have to transition over.

It counts as taxable income, so it will need to be declared to tax credits. You should do an online calculator first to see if it’s worth applying.

Yes it is classed as earnings, you can claim it alongside tax credits and DLA but as above if you work there are limits to how much you can earn. Your tax credits would adjust to take the extra income into account but you have to notify them.

You'll be entitled to have the disabled child element added to your tax credit claim, which is over £4k pa now, plus the severely disabled child element if they get higher rate care (now over £1,500). Your TCs should go up a fair bit.
