Tax code nightmare

Hi I'm looking for some advice as I'm getting so confused with my tax code changing and the calculations. Granted its not a large amount, but every penny counts.

In July 23 my tax code was changed due to an 'estimated' income from DWP for JSA of £3234, from 22-23. I did submit a claim online for JSA between jobs in Jan 22. However the application was never processed no one ever contacted me and I assumed I wasn't entitled to anything as I was due to start another job in Mar 22. Started new job in Mar 22 as planned got a text message from DWP asking me to attend an appointment in Apr 22. I called them and explained was working and didn't require the appointment. July 23 my tax code changed due to this estimated income and I went round the houses for days with HMRC and DWP, between calls and online forms questioning it. Turns out I still had a 'live' account with DWP but no payments had ever been made. They said they'd close the account and the system would update which is integrated with HMRC and it would all update. Needless to say that hasn't happened, so still on the same tax code paying tax for an income in never received.

Today I had a look in the off chance it might have been corrected and I was able to check my tax estimate for next year, it states deductions of £2885 so my tax code for 24/25 is lower again. Where are these deduction figures coming from? It's driving me insane and the thought of spending days calling HMRC and DWP fills me with absolute dread. I also work FT so dont have hours free to spend making these calls. There's got to be an easier way I can sort this, am I missing something obvious here?

Sorry its long winded just wanted to give the full picture in the off chance one of you lovely folk might spot something I'm missing. Thanks for reading.
