How much would you pay for a second hand chest of drawers?

It's a very nice one, think it cost near a grand, 4/5 years old.

They're asking around 500 and we are collecting. Is that a mad amount?

Half price is way too much for something that is well used. There's no guarantee, it's bound to have minor wear and tear. Plus you have to arrange collection. £200 - £250 is more reasonable.

Absolutely depends what it is!!! A bespoke Linley? Probably go up in value not down! Ercol, same.

Ikea, not so much.

And delivery? That’s a you-problem, and nothing to do with the seller.

OP this sounds like too much, if you go to British heart foundations furniture store you can often find good quality furniture some of which looks close to new and the price is nowhere near this amount. They will deliver for around £30. This is a private seller and you have no ability to return if there are any issues.
