I have only just realised that I have been well and truly scammed by this bunch of thieves company!!!
Has anyone else had any success in getting their money back ? All the reviews I have read on trust pilot and MN all have the same story but I want to know if anyone has successfully got their money back ! So far I have had £15 month taken off my credit card since early 2019 after making an Argos purchase =£900 !!!
Apparently I signed up for their cash back….I DEFINITELY DID NOT 👿
Any positive experiences will restore my faith in humanity.

Have the details been removed from your post?

menopausalmare · 24/02/2024 11:48

I haven't but it might be worth contacting Moneybox BBC consumer finance programme. They often advocate for consumers who have been scammed.

CassandraWebb · 24/02/2024 11:49

I don't understand what has happened?

IWantYourLaptop · 24/02/2024 11:51

It's that cashback scam thing.

Even if you click the box they take the details from the retailer you've just used and sign you up using that.

Riverlee · 24/02/2024 11:57

Are they regulated by the FCA?

Out of curiosity, did you not notice the £15 charge every month?

Smartiepants79 · 24/02/2024 12:01

What company? Argos? Your post isn’t very clear who you’re talking about.

dementedpixie · 24/02/2024 12:05

When buying from Argos there would have been a box to click on that's from Complete Savings. It's supposed to be a cashback site but you pay a monthly subscription. Sounds like OP has been signed up for Complete Savings without her knowledge when buying from Argos.

I'm sure there's been previous threads about them on here

TeaKitten · 24/02/2024 12:06

Your post doesn’t make sense OP, scammed by who? Did You not check your statements for the last 5 years?

Wishimaywishimight · 24/02/2024 12:12

I know you mean OP. Happened to me a few years ago. The company in question actuallyreply (or at least they used to) to the Trustpilot reviews and provide an email address to submit your complaint to. They dealt with my issue promptly and I got a refund surprisingly quickly. I check my accounts regularly thought so was only caught for 1 or 2 months.

Edited

No I didn't. I use CC for every purchase and I generally have an idea how much i have spent so I generally skim my statements and just check for large amounts. Yes I know . Lesson learnt, but this company have done this to thousands of people according to trust pilot and reviews on Internet.
Am just wondering if anyone has had any success getting all their money back.
So far have been refunded £45 so it does suggest that the way they have taken my money is underhand toput it politely !

This happened to my elderly parents, they were taking the money for years and they never noticed! They were unable to get it back, only the last 3 months. Bank did not want to know.

They were signed up by a company called "appliances direct" who my mother bought a dishwasher from over the phone. She definitely did not give her consent to signing up for this scheme. I'm more mad at appliances direct for doing this as they are probably on a commission for signing customers up. Total scammers!

I got that bit, I didn’t understand what about. But other people have explained it now.

LakieLady · 25/02/2024 11:24

I was caught by this too. It was through an account I only use for big purchases, so I don't check it very often.

They'd got about £150 off me before I realised.

Did you get it back though?

GogoGobo · 26/02/2024 16:02

I agree with a little previous poster who think the retailer is at fault for “partnering” with this sort of thing. It’s clearly very opaque and leaves people confused as to whether they are just getting cash back on their purchases or inadvertently entering into a ridiculous subscription! Hope you get the money back OP

Duffyduffs · 03/03/2024 10:59

I've just got a complete refund from these scammers.

Ring them if you haven't already, claiming nk knowledge etc. they can give 3mths refund over the phone. They'll say that they will send an email to claim back amount, but they don't immediately.

Follow up with an email declaring no authorisation to take money etc.
They'll reply with a refund claim email, asking your details and whether you've used their services. Which most of us haven't as we didn't know we were members.

3 days later full refund over £600 refunded £15 at a time.

Appeared on my statement as wly -Complete Savings
No idea how I missed it 2020 I joined apparently whilst paying for a Hermes parcel.

Good luck 👍

BarefootbyMoonlight · 03/03/2024 11:25

Is the Asda thing similar?

When I order online there’s always a wee ‘save £21.46’ pop up box

Only had about 4 orders so far but googling didn’t throw any light

(so off to MN, font of all knowledge, if anyone knows)

Kakl · 26/05/2024 20:20

Bought item from Primark and my bank statement showed my Primark purchase but that was followed by an £18 payment to Complete Savings. I did not sign for this. I did not tick any boxes. How do I get my £18 back

Julen7 · 26/05/2024 20:27

As @Duffyduffs says. I got a refund of over 1K back in 2020

dementedpixie · 26/05/2024 20:30

Contact them and ask for a refund. Check there are no previous payments you have missed

The ‘Cashback’ box pops up on Trainline, too, so beware.
